The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has took an important step to address the concerns of children affected by the Uniform Academic Calendar (UAC). The JKBOSE Communique:

The JKBOSE discontinued the practise of holding separate tests for different divisions under the newly imposed unified Academic Calendar, opting for a unified examination system beginning with the Academic Session 2023. As a result, the normal examinations for classes 10th, 11th, and 12th, which were initially scheduled for October-November 2022, were cancelled in the Kashmir Division, Winter Zone Areas of Jammu Division, and Ladakh UT.

JKBOSE has made an important notification in an effort to clear up any potential mistake or misconception. Diplomas from the annual regular session 2022-23 will now read ‘Annual Regular 2021-22/23,’ with the phrase, ‘Academic Session Annual Regular 2021-22 switched to Academic Session 2022-23 due to the implementation of the Uniform Academic Calendar.’

This judgement has major ramifications for the students who are affected, as it ensures that their academic records appropriately reflect the change created by the implementation of the UAC.
