Kashmir Valley experiences “Chillai-Kalan,” a severe 40-day winter season. Even though “Chillai-Kalan” will conclude on January 30, winter will still persist. It is followed by two periods: the 10-day “Chillai-Bachha” (baby cold) period from February 20 to March 1 and the 20-day “Chillai-Khurd” period from January 30 to February 19.
The weather is predicted to be mainly dry from December 24 to 26, according to the MeT official.
On December 27, mostly cloudy weather is predicted with the chance of light snowfall over a few isolated higher reaches.
Generally speaking, December 28–31 is going to be dry.
“Until the end of December, there is generally no significant weather activity.”
